Dr. Mehreen Saeed is a distinguished Data Scientist with expertise in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Artificial Intelligence. She holds a Ph.D. in AI from the University of Bristol, where she pioneered research in automatic computer lip-reading using soft AI methods. With over two decades of experience in academia and industry, she has excelled as an educator, researcher, and innovator. She taught at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Pakistan, where she designed and delivered courses in machine learning, probability, and statistics while mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Currently, she is a Research Associate at North Carolina State University, where she applies advanced deep learning techniques to digitize and analyze historic Arabic handwritten manuscripts. Her work focuses on developing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems for Arabic scripts, addressing challenges such as handwriting variability, damaged texts, and complex linguistic structures, contributing to the preservation and accessibility of historical knowledge.
